Homemade Cranberry Sauce

If there’s one thing you should make on Thanksgiving, it’s homemade cranberry sauce. It’s probably the easiest and makes your house smell amazing. If you’re contributing one dish or all of them, cranberry sauce should be in the mix. It’s fresh, few ingredients, and you can control the sweetness.

12 oz. bag fresh or frozen cranberries
¾ cup sugar
2 strips orange zest
Dash cinnamon
Salt and pepper

  1. Add cranberries to a saucepan and heat over medium low.

  2. Add the sugar, orange zest and cinnamon and cook (stirring occasionally) for about 10 minutes, until cranberries are tender.

  3. Increase the heat to medium and continue to cook and stir until the cranberries have burst, about another 12 minutes.

  4. Remove from the heat, and add salt and pepper to your desired test.

  5. Let cool and enjoy!
